Kimberley Packing Guide
The Kimberley Region boasts a tropical climate that averages between 28-33C during the day but can be cool in the early morning or evening.
Please use soft luggage/duffel bags, and pack lightly (there is a strict 10kg maximum per person for 9-day cruises).
The stewardess offers a complimentary daily laundry service. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, sunscreen, insect repellent, hairdryers, and all linens (including beach towels) are provided.
Daily excursions are adventure based, so we recommend comfortable activewear and appropriate footwear. Casual summer/resort attire is suggested for the evenings.
Packing List
- Short sleeve tops/shirts
- Long sleeve shirts (for sun protection)
- Comfortable shorts and lightweight trousers (muddy bottoms are a possibility – so it’s best to save your white linens for the evening)
- Lightweight jumper or spray jacket
- Bathers and beachwear
- Wide brim hat with chin strap
- Sunglasses
- Wet shoes (reef sandals/shoes or an old pair of sneakers – shoes you don’t mind getting wet, but retain good grip)
- Sneakers or hiking shoes (for more challenging excursions)
- Personal toiletries and hygiene products
- Prescription and other medication
- Zinc and chapstick (if required)
- Drink bottle
- Lightweight water-resistant backpack (keeping your hands free on walks)
Optional Items
Weight permitting, you may wish to bring some of the below items:
- Book/kindle
- Camera (waterproof camera for waterfalls)
- Binoculars
- Thongs or sandals (for onboard and beach walks)
- Fishing equipment (all equipment is provided; however serious fishos may wish to bring their favourite lure or overhand reel)
Electronics
There are standard power points (240 volts) in each cabin for recharging your electronics.
Communications
We have WIFI available onboard during our Kimberley cruises. We also have a satellite phone onboard for emergencies.
First Aid Kit
We have a full first aid kit on-board, but please ensure you bring all personal medications that you may require with you.

Water temperatures are usually in the high 20C’s.
Please use soft luggage/duffel bags, and pack lightly (15kg maximum excluding diving equipment).
The stewardess offers a complimentary daily laundry service. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, sunscreen, insect repellent, hairdryers, and all linens (including beach towels) are provided.
Activities are adventure based so we recommend comfortable activewear, and casual summer/resort attire for the evenings.

- Long sleeved rashie and/or “spring-suit” wetsuit (depending how much you feel the cold)

SCUBA Diving Equipment
- Spring-suit or steamer wetsuit (depending how much you feel the cold)
- Mask and snorkel

- Dive boots
- Safety Sausage (compulsory for every SCUBA diver)
- SCUBA Unit (BCD, regulator, octopus, air gauge, computer)
- Weight belt (weights are provided)
- Torch (compulsory for SCUBA divers wishing to night dive)
- Gloves (if required)
Guests will need to hire/supply ALL of their own SCUBA/snorkelling equipment, except for tanks and weights which are provided.

Communications
Due to the remote location of the Rowley Shoals, Wi-Fi service is very limited during the charter. We carry a satellite phone onboard in case of emergencies. We encourage guests to enjoy being disconnecting for a few days; take it as an opportunity to relax and fully immerse themselves in the Shoals.

Packing List – Birdwatching
For guests that are keen to participate in Birdwatching, we recommend the below:
- Binoculars
- Camera – data storage devices, spare SD cards, and batteries
- Telescope – excellent for viewing shorebirds and seabirds while on land; if you have a spotting scope please bring it (and a tripod) as it will be essential for spotting waders on Islands.
- Headtorch or small hand-held torch
