Sustainability
Our ethos of ‘adventure by day and luxury by night’, is always underpinned by a commitment to safety and preserving the environment.
We are committed environmentally, culturally and through technology to improve our operations, and to preserve the magic of the Kimberley.
- Culturally – We are a registered operators with Wunambal Gaambera people and with the Dambimangari community, ensuring that the owners of the country we visit receive a fee. The fees paid assist in looking after their country, keep it healthy and to pass on to future generations. Our crew are knowledgeable in the history and cultural significance of the areas and are always respectful of the lands we visit.
- Environmentally – Our small group model ensures minimal disturbance to the environment. Small group, minimal impact guarantees we leave only our footprints behind. On board, we are committed to reducing our waste through recycling, and actively participate in the containers for change project. As ocean lovers we hate plastic. We are committed to reducing the plastics we have on board, through local supplier selection, biodegradable products, eliminating single use plastics and selecting earth friendly cleaning products. We are making small steps to minimise our environmental footprint.
- Technological Advancements – The vessels are equipped with facilities to treat and manage waste water, as well as reverse osmosis desalinators that convert salt water to fresh drinking water. Our tender vessels utilise lower emission 4 stroke outboards, and each year the annual maintenance overhaul of the vessels ensures they are operating as efficiently as possible.
